How a status is decided

Every hour, we gather recent news from Polish and international sources — covering roughly the last two days — about developments relevant to Poland's regional security situation. That evidence is then reviewed by an AI model, which assigns each of Poland's 16 voivodeships a status based only on what the news actually reports for that region. Nothing is invented: if there is no relevant news for a region, its status simply stays calm.

If, for any reason, that hourly review doesn't run or a region's information gets too old to trust, that region is marked Unknown rather than shown as calm — we would always rather say "we don't know" than give a false sense of safety.

Status levels

• Green — no elevated regional signal found.
• Yellow — elevated situation requiring attention.
• Red — serious active warning or confirmed incident.
• Unknown — missing, stale, conflicting, or insufficient information. Missing data always resolves to Unknown, never Green.

Map data

Voivodeship boundaries shown on the map come from Poland's official geospatial registry, published by the Polish government's mapping authority.

Limits

This is an independent information service, not an official warning system, and cannot guarantee safety. News coverage can be incomplete, delayed, or wrong, and an AI-assisted review can make mistakes. Always follow instructions from Polish authorities and RCB. For emergencies, call 112.
